More mulching
Beds weeded and mulched
Mulching stops weed seeds from germinating, excluding light. Any weeds that develop from air borne seeds are easier to pull up as they root in the mulch layer.

Weeded the beds and a heavy layer of mulch applied. Should help with the soil structure and at the same time suppress weed growth, and make it easier to remove any wind-borne weeds

Busy days
The gardens are in full swing after the cold spring we’ve had. Grass cutting weekly, weeds popping up everywhere. The rewards of the autumn and spring preparation, mulching, planting and pruning (especially the roses) are starting to show.
