Tree removal
Goat willow self sown and left to grow, absorbing a rose root into it’s trunk. Now removed to make way for something more suitable for a bed with viburnum, fuchsia and roses 🌹

Busy days
The gardens are in full swing after the cold spring we’ve had. Grass cutting weekly, weeds popping up everywhere. The rewards of the autumn and spring preparation, mulching, planting and pruning (especially the roses) are starting to show.

Warmer weather
Although the nights have still been cold with the occasional frost, the day time temperatures have been rising, noticeable in perennials starting to shoot, and as usual the weeds out”shooting” the perennials we want in our flower beds. Spring!
Today was very spring-like. The long days are great for gardeners. 5 gardens today..
Wildlife
As long as customers are in agreement, I maintain gardens whilst also encouraging wildlife. Simple things like leaving log piles in a discreet part of the garden for insects, leaving the grass slightly longer which leaves some of the flowers for especially for bees and have aslo created a wildlife pond.
