Now the cold has arrived time to lift dahlias if you’re so inclined.. Or leave them in and cover with a thick layer of mulch (a very cold, damp winter might still cause the tubers to rot), so the first option is better if you have dahlias that you really like. Also they can be started off in the spring before the frosts have gone, indoors, which means earlier blooms!
