Warmer weather

Although the nights have still been cold with the occasional frost, the day time temperatures have been rising, noticeable in perennials starting to shoot, and as usual the weeds out”shooting” the perennials we want in our flower beds. Now is the time to start weeding.. Especially if your prized perennials are being smothered.

Creeping Trefoil.. Tap root..
Creeping Trefoil

Many weeds are well adapted to being grazed(cleared by humans).. creeping Trefoil has surface roots and also a deep tap root. So you need to get your fork in deep and to try ge and get as much root as you can.

Once cleared from your “wanted” plants.. These will need some TLC.. Mainly a good soaking, possibly some organic matter mulch.. To give them a head start, now that they are not competing with those pesky weeds!!

Will update these pictures in a couple of weeks.. See if there is significant growth.
